As part of celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the World Health Organization (WHO), a major health promotion event will take place in Geneva on the eve of the 71st World Health Assembly.

The free walk event, titled Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge, will be open to people of all ages and abilities.  WHO has encouraged everybody to take part in this event, regardless of their location.

Your participation in this campaign (wherever you’ll be on 20 May) WILL help raise the voices of youth across the world who are calling for youth engagement towards healthier and physically active lifestyles.

On Sunday, 20 May, plan to walk, jog, run, skate, use your wheelchair – short or long, with friends and family, or solo, indoors or out.

Pull out your phones and share pictures of yourself and others walking on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook with the hashtag #youthwalkthetalk and #WHA71

A couple of pointers to getting your messages out even further:

  • Tag your friends, networks, @NCDChild
  • Address your tweets to the WHO Director General (@DrTedros)
  • Include other common hashtags when you can (#EnoughNCDs, #BeatNCDs, #EWECYouth, #HealthforAll)
  • Share this message with your friends, colleagues, and family – encourage them to participate
