We have the opportunity now to empower a generation to make healthy choices, reduce the social and environmental NCD risk factors, and strengthen health systems to respond to the needs of children and adolescents. Together, these efforts will drive sustainable human development, achieve progress towards the “25 by 25” global NCD target, and lay the foundation for the world’s future. This policy brief provides the rationale for investing in the early years of life for NCD prevention and treatment, offers strategic opportunities for interventions and impact, and outlines commendations for the post-2015 era.
